HIGHER SECONDARY PROGRAMMES

The College is affiliated to Higher Secondary Education Council for Two Year Higher Secondary Courses in Arts, Science and Commerce.
COMBINATION OF SUBJECTS:
HIGHER SECONDARY : ARTS
A. Compulsory Subjects:
1.
English
2.
M.I.L ( Assamese/Bengali/Hindi) or Alternative English.
B. Elective Subjects:

Any four of the following subjects of which three are compulsory.
Advanced Assamese or Geography,
History or Mathematics,
Logic & Philosophy,
Political Science,
Education,
Economics.

HIGHER SECONDARY: COMMERCE
A. Compulsory Subjects:

M.I.L (Assamese/Bengali/Hindi) or Alternative English.

GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The College is affiliated to Gauhati University for the Three Year Degree Course in Arts, Science and Commerce with or without Major. The duration of these courses is three years. As a result of the introduction of the semester system by Gauhati University there will be 6 (six) semesters in the Graduate programmes.
Students should note that
a.
1st, 3rd and 5th semesters begin from July.
b.
2nd, 4th and 6th semester begin from January.
c.
Internal Assessment/Sessional Examination during semester period are compulsory and are to be treated as University Examination because marks obtained in these assessments/Sessional examination are added to the marks in the semester end examination conducted by the University.
d.
After the introduction of the grading system, marks obtained by students are converted into grades and the conventional Mark-Sheet is replaced by a Grade-Sheet.

THREE YEAR DEGREE COURSE : ARTS
A. Compulsory Subjects:
1.
English
2.
M.I.L ( Assamese/Bengali/Hindi) or Alternative English.
   
N.B. Students can opt Nepali, Bodo or Manipuri but classes are for the same are not held in the College

   
B. Elective Subjects:
  Any two from the following subjects:
  Elective Assamese or Geography,
Economics,
Education,
Political Science,
History or Mathematics,
Philosophy.
N.B. Students can opt for Hindi as elective Language but classes are for the same are not held in the College.

   
C. Major Subjects

A student is allowed to offer for Major Course in any one of the following subjects:
  1. Assamese,
2. Economics,
3. Education,
4. English,
5. Geography,
6. Hindi,
7. History,
8. Mathematics and
9. Political Science.

Following combinations are not allowed:
i.
Geography and Elective language
ii.
Education with History
iii.
History with Mathematics.

   
THREE YEAR DEGREE COURSE: SCIENCE
Compulsory Subjects:

English

Elective Subjects:
Any one of the following combinations:

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Major subject in Science stream:

A student is allowed to offer for major course in any one of the following subjects:

7. Economics.

Note: " Willing students will have to apply for Major Course to the Heads of the respective Departments who will select the students on the basis of merit.
" For admission to T.D.C Science Major Course a student offering subject in column I must have passed the corresponding subjects in column in II in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
